Fundraise-For-Entry
The CATGUT is a charity ski tour to support the Catamount Trail Association and utilizes a fundraise-for-entry registration model. What this means is that when you sign up there is no fee initially. Instead participants have until midnight on Saturday, March 12th to fundraise a minimum of $50. Participants that do not meet the $50 minimum by midnight the day before the tour will be charged the remaining balance.
Skiers can also choose to register on the day of the event—Sunday, March 12th—to ski and celebrate with our community for $20. This option comes with no fundraising commitment, and does not offer access to our event raffle.
Trail access at Craftsbury is included with event registration.

Fundraising Tips
Setting Your Fundraising Goal
Setting your personal fundraising goal is an opportunity to challenge yourself. Your goal should be reasonable, yet ambitious. Ideally, the target you establish should reflect the value you see in the resources and programs made possible by the Catamount Trail Association and our chapters.
The Catamount Trail is 300 miles long. So, maybe a fundraising goal of $300 makes sense. Do you have an alpine or nordic season pass this season? What is Vermont's expanding network of backcountry zones worth to you? What about our youth? How important are programs that get young people outside, get them moving, and give them access to recreation opportunities that have traditionally been reserved for those with more privilege?
In the end, the CTA is engaged in a variety of work that makes a difference, and every dollar raised matters. More support means more people outside, and more opportunities and greater access for those that might not otherwise be able to participate.
NOTICE: Your personal fundraising goal is an aspirational target and there is no commitment to cover any amount beyond the minimum $50 requirement should you be unsuccessful in achieving your stated goal.
Achieving Your Fundraising Goal
Once you've established your fundraising goal it's time to rally support. When you register as a fundraiser a personal fundraising page will be created for you on the Skireg/Pledgereg platform. Take the time to customize this page and explain why supporting the CTA and our chapters is important to you.
Next it's time to reach out to friends, family, and colleagues via email and social media and encourage them to support you as you work towards your fundraising goals. You can direct potential supporters to your Personal Fundraising Page or to this Donation Form.
As you prepare for the CATGUT in March make your preparation part of your fundraising campaign. Share the process... start to finish... with your friends and family and remind them why you are doing this. Turning your fundraising efforts into a story and sharing it will help you be successful and keep you motivated throughout the season.
Good Luck!
